Canoe & Equipment Policies

  • We require a $50.00 per canoe deposit to complete a reservation. Deposits are applied to rental bill at the time of payment. Deposits will be refunded if you cancel five or more days in advance of the start of the trip.
  • Eligible items are charged Partial Day Rate if they are taken out after 1 pm or returned before 1 pm. Applies to first and last day of multi-day rentals.
  • Single day rentals qualify for Partial Day Rate if equipment is used for 6 hours or less.
  • Any part of a calendar day is charged as a full day for all other items.
  • Sleeping gear is charged per night.
  • The sixth day is free on all partial outfitting rentals.
  • Non-profit groups with Certificate of Tax Exemption from Minnesota sales tax are offered a 10% discount on all rentals.

Our unique general store sells all brands of waterproof, topographic canoeing maps, fishing licenses, bait, tackle, insect repellent, camping equipment and accessories, clothing, dehydrated food, fresh foods and everything else you need for a wilderness canoe trip.

BWCA Wilderness Entry Permits are required by the U. S. Forest Service. The entry permit allows you to enter the BWCA Wilderness on a certain date at a particular entry point. You can check permit availability and reserve a permit yourself on the web at: recreation.gov or by calling toll free 1-877-444-6777.
